About The Painted Nose Tribe Sanctuary

We are a place where any creature, be it a tired mom or a fussy child, a community cat (those we do specialize in), a migrating bird... we have loads of Purple Martins in season, pollinators... I love pollinators, much to the consternation of my husband, who watches Carpenter Bees hollow out his beloved sheds, or any other creature traveling through can stop and rest, recuperate, and what have you. Though, back to our mission... we are here for small animals in need... they receive triage from trained volunteers and then veterinary care or respite here until the appropriate course of action is determined.
We happen to exist in a county in South Carolina that "does not do cats,"  so we are one of the few 501(c)3 charities in the area that specializes in cats and never turns away any creature in need, as afore mentioned.

Our current focus ~

This week, we received our 501(c)3 accreditation, joined the Best Friends Network, and started learning about all the paperwork that goes along with all the work that we are doing to care for lots of little animals in a very stormy and very, very hot, not quite yet summer season. HELP... we need Help, Volunteer, Donate, lend us your kids for the summer... whatever... please

Guiding principles

We are of Indigenous lineage and love the land. We are doing what we are doing for the love of our Lord and Savior and for the love of the animals. We keep in mind the peace and gentle hand of St. Peter and honor our ancestors in all we do. Every animal deserves a name, as it is an individual, and every animal needs to be honored and respected.

Positive impact

It is hard to put a hierarchy on what they need first... we provide a safe space, love, food, water, medical care and we help the community understand what is going on with the animals in their area, especially, but not exclusively, Community Cats.

"The Painted Nose Tribe Sanctuary has given our community's feral cats a new lease on life. Their dedication is truly inspiring!"
